Lakeside Engagement Session // Dustin & Emily // Edmonton Engagement Photographer

I have been soooo excited to share this blog! Let me introduce you to Emily, a coffee loving, intelligent, school teacher and Dustin, a sports loving, hockey playing painter and electrician. I also refer to these love birds as my sunshine couple. They booked me for their wedding in the very early, uncertain days of COVID. At the time I was rescheduling all my March/April clients, and my 2020 wedding season was vanishing before my eyes. The government still was figuring out CERB and at the time many business owners weren’t qualifying…. in an uncertain, scary and sad time they reminded me there is always light. Meeting them in person it was evident they are sunshine. They radiate light, and love.

These two have been together for 8 years now but they still have this giddy, happy chemistry. They are planning a beautiful wedding at St. Peter Catholic Church in April of next year. There is so much they are looking forward to on their wedding day but Emily can’t wait to look Dustin, the love of her life, in the eyes when the church doors open and Dustin is so excited to see Emily in her wedding dress. They both look forward to dancing the night away.

Some of their favorite things to do as a couple are playing crib, cards, and listening to oldies music. They love grocery shopping together and cooking for each other. They even have a special furry friend, Lucy, who made an appearance in their engagement session! They love taking her on walks, and hiking around Canmore. Emily says her favorite thing about Dustin is the way he makes the whole world wash away. Every fret, every worry goes away- she loves how he loves the women in his life. His love for 80’s music and the kitchen dance parties they have. She loves how much he supports her endeavours and career. Dustin loves Emily’s ability to see the light in the darkest of situations and how much she loves family. He loves the way those blue eyes look at him after they hug or kiss. How sweet are these two? I just feel so lucky to be working with them!

Dustin and Emily, thanks for having so much fun with me during your engagement session! Thanks for introducing me to your fur baby, Lucy- for the laughter, running down country roads, and jumping on bikes. I may have gotten stung by stinging nettle over the entire left side of my body- but I’d do it again in a heart beat to photograph you guys! When I got home from this session I definitely took Benadryl, had an ice cold bath trying to numb the stings, and slathered my body in after-bite. Hahaha. WORTH IT! I hope you love your photos!!!

All my love,
Jenny
