My journey with photography stems from a lifelong interest in imagery. When I was young, I remember my grandma asking me what I wanted to be when I was older. When I told her I wanted to be a photographer she encouraged me to get my education to become something more mainstream, like a teacher... or a nurse. So, right after high school at the ripe age of 17 I began University. It was during University that my photography business became a reality. I was working as a cosmetician at Shoppers Drug Mart. My store had an electronics department, and they were having a mega-sale on all their Canon cameras. I was SO excited because my whole life I wanted to take beautiful images. Finally- a camera that I could change the lens on! I quickly bought some books and began teaching myself the basics of photography. I started doing photoshoots for friends and family and I quickly sold my Canon Rebel and upgraded to two Nikon D750's (full frame professional gear) with some prime lenses. Fast forward a bit- I graduated with my Bachelor of Social Work and after working as a social worker for a year and a half, I had my son Parker. My maternity leave was coming to a close and I had to decide if I was going back to the office or not. I took a leap of faith and resigned from my office job to pursue my photography business full time. I'm now headed into my fourth year as a full time wedding and portrait photographer. I absolutely love my job as an Alberta photographer. I get to celebrate exciting, happy and beautiful moments for couples and families. It's because of each and every one of you that I get to live a life I LOVE! From the bottom of my heart, thank you. xo Jenny
I was born and raised in Lacombe, Alberta and after marrying my husband Thomas, we moved to Edmonton to finish University. We've lived in the city for six years now and are proud to call Edmonton home. Shortly after finishing our education we purchased a home, so I guess that means we're staying a while. We look forward to raising our two boys in this amazing city. Since then, I've traveled up and down our beautiful province documenting love stories for couples and families.
My love for photography has brought me everywhere from the rocky mountains in Banff and Jasper, to the living room of country music star, Brett Kissel! Being an Alberta photographer has awarded me the absolute honour of meeting the most amazing couples and families. I am SO grateful each every day to be doing a job I love.

I truly believe flowers spread joy. When I walked into the Lovella floral studio it was love at first sight. We had the same flooring, both have pink couches, and every vase at the studio looked like something I'd have in my home. The amazingly talented Floral Designer, Angela, has become one of my very best friends and made this GORGEOUS bouquet for me for my 10 year vow renewal. We live our best lives creating beauty and joy through florals and film photography. #JOYELLA.
I'm the mama of two beautiful boys. My oldest son, Parker, is six years old and my youngest son, Hudson, is 3 years old. This season of life is all consuming and overwhelming but so beautiful and so rewarding. The way I like to describe motherhood is finding "happy in the hard." Grateful to be a mama to such amazing little boys! A huge shoutout to Teryn Lee Photography for these amazing images of my family!
I fell in love with my sweet Thomas at the young age of 19! We got married at just 20 and 23 years old. I love that Thomas and I have been able to "grow up together." We have navigated the joys + challenges of adulthood together, and I love having him my side and being able to call him my life partner. Thomas is truly the greatest blessing and gift in my life. My forever best friend. We recently celebrated our 10 year anniversary with an intimate vow renewal at Sanctuary Gardens in Kelowna, BC. I love you my sweet Thomas!
I absolutely love pink. My husband is such a good sport and has allowed me to decorate the house however I please... so... pink it is! We have a pink door, pink couches, pink dishes, and other pink decor. Half of my wardrobe is pink, and I really cannot get enough of anything and everything pink. I just love it! Always have, always will. Our wedding colors were pink and blue, so we replicated a fine-art version of this palette for our 10 year vow renewal! :)
When I go to a restaurant I always order dessert first. Here's my reasoning: How many times have you finished your main course meal, and then feel too full for dessert? It's not like you can order dessert and pack it home and eat it the next day. The icecream will melt, the brownie will harden, the whipped cream will dissolve into nothing. HOWEVER: You order dessert first, enjoy it because you aren't too full, then you can pack up whatever you don't eat of your entree and eat it the next day. #Genuis.
Me and my hubby share a love of gardening. We are total garden nerds and spend every winter planning our garden for the upcoming season. We also have a little greenhouse in our basement where we start seeds in the spring and transplant into our garden once the frost has passed. My husband grows vegetables, and I grow speciality cut flowers; sourcing my seeds from Canadian Flower Farmers. Gardening brings me SO much joy. Watching a little seed grow and produce something so beautiful never ceases to amaze me. Plants are amazing, flowers are amazing. Every summer I'm able to make neighbours, family and friends garden bouquets and I love being able to always have a fresh arrangement from the garden on my kitchen table. Watching my little boys go barefoot into the garden and pick flowers is so rewarding. One day, my husband I would LOVE to buy a property with lots of land so we can do an EPIC garden. Maybe one day!
I lived in Hawaii for a year and it captured my heart and soul. The aloha spirit is REAL and I miss it every day. The pacific island breeze through my hair, the salty humid air, the colorful flowers and lush mountains. It's truly my paradise. If you've ever been to Hawaii... you know. Hawaii was also the place I shot film for the very first time! This photo was taken on the iconic Fuji 400H Film-Stock. I was so happy with how all the film images turned out!
IF I HAD TO DESCRIBE THIS BUSINESS IN THREE WORDS, THEY WOULD BE TIMELESS, ROMANTIC AND JOYFUL.
sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory
"If a photographer cares about the people before the lens and is compassionate, much is given. It is the photographer, not the camera, that is the instrument."
This business to me is so much more than just taking pictures. It's about connecting with people and finding fulfilling relationships with those around me. It's celebrating happy moments in life and preserving memories for generations to come. It's about family history. It's that one day when you want to go back in time... you can. Memories are always special. Document them. You'll always be glad you did.
