These two went to high school together but didn’t connect until their university days! They both did their first year at Lakeland College in Lloydminster and had a few classes together, but didn’t actually start hanging out until one of their mutual friends organized a night out at a country bar. Rebecca thought Brennen was cute so she walked over and told him to dance with her (thatta girl!!!!) They started dancing together- even though Brennen hates dancing. They shared a taxi on their way home that night and Rebecca put her number in Brennen’s phone before she left. He texted her later saying how much he enjoyed the night and the rest is history! Their proposal story is the best. So! Get this. They had been talking about getting married for a while, and Rebecca gave Brennen a very subtle hint of the ring she liked. One day, she was looking for a bandaid in his closet and ended up FINDING the ring box on his shelf! It was hiding behind the bandaids! It drove her crazy that next week waiting for the proposal to happen- thinking any moment that “this could be it!” She eventually admitted to Brennen that she found the ring, and that’s why she was acting a little bit anxious. Then he was faced with having to still make the proposal a surprise. One day they were planning to make a fancy supper together and Rebecca thought it would definitely happen after supper. They got some groceries to take back to Brennen’s place, but they stopped by Rebecca’s house first for some more things. When she went to put things away in the fridge, the ring was sitting on a shelf in the fridge! He took it and got down on one knee, and Rebecca was so happy how he was still able to catch her off guard and make the proposal a surprise. Good job Brennen!!!
September 19, 2020 was a beautiful fall day – perfect day for getting married! They had a small wedding celebrating with close family and friends at the Rolling Green Fairways golf course in Lloydminster. Rebecca loved how intimate their day was and thought the whole day went amazingly! She wish it could’ve lasted an entire weekend. Walking down the aisle seeing Brennen tear up, and listening to his thoughtful vows were some of her favorite moments from their day. Brennen’s favorite part was marrying his best friend- he thought the entire day was just perfect. He loved how small the wedding was so they could actually hang out with all of their guests. Rebecca mentioned how nice that was too- being able to visit with everyone. She also LOVED listening to everyone’s speeches- what a rollercoaster of emotions. There were a lot of special moments this day- so many emotions. When I reflect on their wedding day the word that keeps coming to mind is heartfelt. Rebecca lost her dad a number of years ago, and I felt he was honoured in every moment of this day. I was emotional as I saw their family grieve his absence but cherish his memory with their love. Thank you, for letting me document this day- you all felt like old friends by the end of the night. This wedding wrapped up my 2020 wedding season and my heart was filled with gratitude as I drove back to Edmonton that night.
Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Watt!
Sending you so much love.
