Shaelyn and Curtis are getting married at Pine and Pond next June (just shy of their 9 year anniversary) and I am so excited for their wedding. They reached out to me back in January and we met for an in person consult over some delicious Starbucks! When they were cruising the Pine and Pond tag on instagram they said that my light and airy style stuck out to them. Guys! When they said this to me my heart fluttered, haha. It’s just the biggest compliment when a couple values your artistic vision as a creative. As we continued chatting and getting to know each other I knew we would work so great together.
So listen to this. Anyone who knows me knows that I am OBSESSED with Hawaii. I lived there my first year of college and the island has never left my soul. Whenever I have the opportunity to travel, we always go to Hawaii. I keep telling myself one of these days I’ll change it up and we will go somewhere else… but it never happens, hahaha. Back to the islands I go. WELL get this- How did Curtis propose you ask? He proposed in Honolulu right next to the ocean. How AMAZING! Good job Curtis! Hawaii is actually one of their favorite places to go together. Their other favorite place to visit is Disneyland (and this is my husbands favorite destination!) Side note- Curtis also reminds me SO MUCH of my brother, Andy. The way he talks, carries himself, his expressions. So many things about him remind me of my big bro. What I’m trying to say is: Shaelyn and Curtis instantly felt like “my kinda people” – they felt familiar, like we had met before, and like instant friends.
When we started talking about their engagement session they instantly were like…. SOOOO, the mountains? And I was instantly like.. HECK YES! They LOVE camping and go to Kananaskis every year- so we coordinated their engagement session around their camping trip! We explored Two Jack Lake and Banff which made for a super fun evening. These two were so much fun. Shaelyn has the BEST smile and Curtis was down for all my silly ideas. They really are fantastic. I always warn couples when I get into “work” mode I get so excited and start running around like an energizer bunny. Well. That happened. But magic also happened. I’m so excited to share with you all their joyful gallery. I can’t wait to celebrate with you two next year!!!
