Edmonton Maternity Session – Motherhood Anthology Feature

I was so excited when Mary booked me for her maternity session! She was pregnant with her second son and wanted to document her pregnancy prior to his arrival. Choosing a location that would convey the magical feeling of celebrating motherhood and pregnancy was important to me, so we ended up going to a spot that overlooked the beautiful river valley. The light was soft and glowy and Mary’s dress danced in the breeze. I shot Fuji 400H film at 1/60 of a second and I adore how this captured movement in Mary’s dress as it fluttered in the wind. Film has a way of adding depth and dimension to images that I just love! One of the highlights of this session for me was documenting heartfelt moments between Mary and her first born son, Briggs… soaking up every minute while it’s just the two of them before baby brother arrives. Mary is such a beautiful mama and I had the best time documenting this growing family!
